Your charter trip estimate is calculated in several parts:
AIRCRAFT CHARGE - Each aircraft has an hourly cost to operate. The total aircraft hourly charge includes fuel, aircraft scheduled and unscheduled maintenance cost, engine overhaul cost, aircraft insurance, hangar cost, administrative cost and profit. Your aircraft total charge will be calculated on the total estimated taxi and flight trip time from home base back to home base multiplied by the aircraft hourly rate. Ground time is not calculated in aircraft charge.
AIRCRAFT MINIMUM DAILY CHARGE - Most charter operators charge a minumum aircraft charge which is equal to the aircraft hourly rate times a minimum of 2 hours daily, plus the pilot daily rate. This become the minimum daily aircraft charge.
PILOT FEES - Pilots are normally paid on a daily rate. The more flight time in one day, up to a maximum of 8 hours, the less it cost our charter customer for his pilot per hour. This is called pilot utilization. Obviously, the better the pilot utilization, the lower the total hourly cost. The maximum pilot duty time is 14 hours a day from report for duty, flight preparation, to return to home base and debriefing. Our pilots report for your flight one hour before scheduled departure time and the duty clock stops 30 minutes after returning to home base. If a longer duty day is required, the pilot is required to have an 8 hour crew rest free of duty.
PILOT WAIT FEES - Pilots are paid an hourly wait fee for time spent on duty on the ground at destination and waiting for passengers on the return trip home. These fees do not apply when overnight fees are applicable.
Aircraft & Crew Overnight Fees (If applicable) - Charter operators provide for the pilot's transportation, food, lodging, and miscellaneous expense while away from home base. The aircraft & pilot will either need to be repositioned back home during the overnight(s) stay, or charge the customer a minimum nightly "overnight" fee, for each night the aircraft sits away from home base, whichever is less.
AIRPORT LANDING FEES, RAMP FEES, PASSENGER FEES - Some airports charge airport landing fees based on the maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft and sometimes a per-passenger fee. Some Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) charge ramp fees and or overnight fees for remaining on their ramp longer than the 30 minutes or so required for passenger loading or unloading. Many FBOs will waive ramp and overnight fees when fuel is purchased each day the aircraft is on the ramp. These fees, of course, are only charged to the customer if AvJets incurs a charge.
AIRCRAFT CATERING OR SPECIAL REQUESTS - AvJets Air Charter provides our passengers with free refreshments, limited beverages, and snacks on board each flight free of charge. We are happy to make arrangements for special catering, liquor, car rentals, hotel reservations or any other reasonable requests from and for our charter clients. Please call well enough ahead for us to assist you with your requests. Upon request, AvJets pilots can often provide pick-up and delivery service for our customers.
CHARTER RATES "BY THE SEAT - It is rarely practical for charter operators to charge their charter clients by the seat since the cost, convenience and availability of all of the aircraft seats and crew are completely dedicated to, and at the disposal of, the client. Typically, our charter rates are comparable to most "charter by the seat" operators, when taken in context of the trip, type of aircraft, comfort, convenience and flexible scheduling is taken into consideration.
